FAQ
What are your professional qualifications?
My earliest success as a learner dates back to the year 1996, when I was awarded the First Certificate in English (B2 level). 🙂
I graduated from the Foreign Language Teacher Training College in Wrocław, Poland, where I specialised in foreign language teaching methodology (I completed 243 teaching hours before my graduation), and was later awarded a B.A. degree from the University of Wrocław in 2005.
I continued my education at the Master’s level, discovering how language learning, the studies of the human mind and technology can be combined to help people learn languages faster and more efficiently.
When did you start teaching English?
I started teaching English in 1999 while taking a gap year before starting my university studies. Truth be told, teaching allowed me to survive the economic decline that occurred around the year 2000. In the end, I continued to teach young learners and teenagers until 2002 when I eventually started my undergraduate studies at the Foreign Language Teacher Training College in Wrocław. From that point on, I continued to teach in the afternoons and evenings, and in 2005 I started my own teaching/translating business.
When did you start learning Polish?
I started teaching Polish in 2006 when Korean employees started arriving in Wrocław, Poland, to supervise the development of the local LG production plant. I was initially appointed to teach Korean children English; however, my scope of duties was later extended to teaching Polish as a foreign language.
How much do your classes cost exactly?
My system is actually very simple. The base fee is $17 (or EUR 15/PLN 60) per 60 minutes of tuition. This is how much I charge for one-to-one classes with a single student. This way you can ensure that 100% of my time and attention are focused on you.
However, you can significantly lower the price per person if you invite friends or family to learn together with you. For each extra person, I only add $4 (or EUR 3.50/PLN 15) for each additional participant, as follows:
1 person – $17 / EUR 15 / PLN 60 per 60 minutes
2 people – $21 / EUR 18.5 / PLN 75 per 60 minutes
3 people – $25 / EUR 22 / PLN 90 per 60 minutes
4 people – $29 / EUR 25.5 / PLN 105 per 60 minutes
5 people – $33 / EUR 29 / PLN 120 per 60 minutes
My attention becomes equally shared among the members of the group. Apart from the lower price per person, this solution allows me to vary the interaction patterns during the class – you will be working individually, in pairs or groups of three.
What is the maximum size of the group?
Up to 8 people can participate within the same group.
Do you speak my native language?
I am more of a linguist than a polyglot, but I do enjoy learning languages. Here is a list of languages, apart from Polish and English, that I can use, to varying degrees:
German – A2 level (pre-intermediate) completed
Spanish – A1 level (beginner) completed
Bengali – A2 level in progress
Russian – I can read texts in Russian
